Between Thanksgiving and Christmas I always feel like playing video games, I assume because of years and years of defining holiday breaks by them. Christmas was made for Guitar Hero... or vice versa. And I tried to play Guitar Hero at Aubrey's, but the disc was scratched and it wasn't the one I know and I haven't played that game in probably two years. STILL FUN. I also feel compelled to find the Nintendo 64 and play the Mario game because so many hours were spent with that game when the Nintendo 64 came out that it lives in my memory associated with near-Walt Disney World levels of bliss.

Since none of those things work or are at my house, I've been playing Sims. Which is the sort of game I always think I want to play and then quickly lose momentum after spending an hour decorating a small half bathroom. The amount of work I should be doing has combined with holiday video game playing to make it actually kind of entertaining, as well as when things happen! And by things happen I mean when people die in freak house fires.

I accidentally left my computer running this game sitting on a cushy footstool all. night. long. and somehow the computer didn't explode or catch on fire. I also left a candle burning the same night. Apparently I was determined to burn down my living room. But during those 8 hours, NOTHING HAPPENED. The golden trio did homework, Hermione confessed her undying love for Harry, Ginny ate breakfast, everything was normal and everyone was taking care of themselves.

So then because it was on, I decided to play with it for a few minutes that morning, and apparently my attention to the computer caused all hell to break loose.

Photobucket

Snape burns the meal he is cooking, and somehow the game thinks that's what needs my attention here. Actually I find it more noteworthy that EVERY APPLIANCE IN THE KITCHEN HAS BROKEN and spilled water all over, that Snape is passed out in a puddle, and Lupin is standing by that broken dishwasher thinking he can fix it.

Photobucket

He can't. He got electrocuted and became the first electrocuted Sim I've had to DIE FROM IT. HE IS DEAD. Harry never even liked that dishwasher.

Photobucket

Immediately after he dies, the dishwasher repairman arrives. PERFECT... TIMING.

Photobucket

Ron is all, WELL HERE IS A SAD MEMORY except it isn't, because every time he thinks about Lupin dying after this he starts laughing. Hermione is all judgey and the repairman is burdened with guilt and remorse. Where were you. Where were you.

Photobucket

Draco has no time for your grief, Hermione leaves to go study, and Ginny is thinking about herself. The guy in the vest is just some random neighbor kid who came over to visit at a really inopportune time.

Photobucket

Ron is done with grief. He's just done. He would rather be at a disco. For the next few Sim days, everyone cries intermittently, BUT NOT RON. Ron laughs. Ron lives to party.

Photobucket

The Weasleys are just generally bad at grieving, because Ginny is all HEYYYYYY GRIM REAPER, ARE YOU SINGLE? Snape knows she's just after his money, because Ginny is a gold digger, let's just be honest.

Photobucket

In the midst of this I turn the camera around and notice that Draco has passed out in front of the fireplace and subsequently caught on fire.

Photobucket

Harry is all GRYFFINDOR BRAVERY and tries to extinguish Draco and Ron's whole brain is crying.

Photobucket

And the repairman will never come to this house again. He is probably going to need counseling. I think the neighbor kid already fled... a wise move. He might have been next. This is a place of death.

Photobucket

Draco survives! Somehow.

Photobucket

Immediately after Draco is extinguished, the firefighter arrives. The services in this town are ridiculous. Draco ONLY WANTED TO TAKE A NAP, GOSH and the repairman is still just hanging around the property, probably because it's more entertaining than fixing dishwashers.

Photobucket

CONSOLING HUG.

Photobucket

Ron tries to get a ~consoling hug~ from Snape and Snape is having none of it. SORRY RON. You are left alone with your grief.

Photobucket

And then Snape must feel remorse because he is all LUPIN IS DEAAAAADDDDDD, HOLD ME and suddenly full of caring.

Photobucket

And then the grill catches on fire.

Hahaha! You're so welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. If I could guarantee Sims would always be that awesome, I would play it so much more. Other times it's like, oh, let me wait fifteen minutes for the game to load and then for nothing to happen.

Are we not friends? Shouldn't we be? Is that your twitter? How did you get here? I'M CONFUSED.

As if anyone should ever do anything else!

...although, I miss the days when I checked lj first thing in the morning. Now it's like Facebook/Twitter/school and MAYBE lj unless I forget and don't check it until evening.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. :(

I won't lie, I have not been using lj nearly as much lately and as a result, just noticed that you added me. I added you back, and proceeded to cre--READ the last few pages of your lj because it seems no one ever updates anymore (or they do but it's boring ramblings) and I found this. And I am laughing my head off.

NOTHING like this ever happens when I play this game. Maybe because I leave the free will on "low"? Are your Sims 100% autonomous? Also, which expansions do you have?

I like the furniture and style of the house, but I don't seem to have any items like this, or maybe it's that I haven't perfected the art of customization. (I seem to do well with changing/designing colors and patterns, but creating entirely new objects altogether is beyond me.)

Haha! I have them autonomous as possible. This is all the real EPs up to the S3 version of Pets (no stuff packs, unless I downloaded them without knowing) and AwesomeMod. And a lot of custom sims, clothes, and hair. The house is actually a default Pets house, because I get overwhelmed trying to make liveable houses. I go on small decorating sprees but get too absorbed. After this everything was boring for a long time. It comes and goes in waves of hilarity.
